This was one of the first dishes – side dishes, to be honest – I ever made. My husband found the recipe. I loved it and enriched it a bit with time, always truly enjoying it as I adore olives, almonds and basil. And broccoli, of course 🙂
The crucial thing to prepare Mediterranean style broccoli right is to steam-cook it. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t have a steam cooker, because the improvisation is simple. Pour about an inch of water into a pan and cover it with a large spaghetti strainer. Place the broccoli florets into the strainer and cover with a lid. The method is easy and quick – every veggie will be perfectly prepared in no time!
As for this lovely Mediterranean style broccoli – it goes well with numerous dishes. My recommendation would be to pair it with aromatic saffron chickpea.
